BILL GIBB

Bill Gibb represents one of the most imaginative voices in British fashion. His work blends romanticism, historical reference and an almost painterly approach to colour and print.

Working throughout the late 1960s and 1970s, Gibb became known for richly detailed pieces that drew on medieval dress, folk costume and Art Nouveau influences. Flowing silhouettes, intricate pattern and unexpected colour combinations sit at the heart of his design language. Many of his garments were produced in collaboration with textile designers such as Kaffe Fassett, resulting in some of the most distinctive fabrics of the era.

These are pieces that feel expressive rather than costume. A Bill Gibb blouse or dress brings texture, movement and depth to a modern wardrobe, whether paired with simple denim or worn as a statement on its own.

This edit focuses on original vintage Bill Gibb pieces that capture his signature balance of craftsmanship and creativity. Each one reflects a moment in British fashion history, while remaining entirely wearable today.

The humble charity shop is where my love affair with fashion began. Since I can remember I have never walked past a charity store without popping inside for a rummage.
