This Chanel Boutique jacket has that distinctive ’90s longline silhouette. The wide lapels frame a deep V, the waist curves gently in and the hem falls below the hips. The navy wool is surprisingly lightweight. One of my favourite details is at the back, where the seams meet in a shallow V that echoes the little point of the collar.
Seven buttons fasten the front with narrow fabric loops, and three matching buttons sit at each cuff. Each has ‘Chanel Paris’ lettering around a gold-tone centre. Turn one over and you’ll find the Chanel name stamped into the gold-tone metal on the reverse. Inside the jacket, the interlocking Cs are woven into the silk lining.
I’d wear it open over a white T-shirt with a favourite pair of Levi’s in the warmer months. Come autumn, I’d layer it over a fine wool maxi dress and add a belt at the waist.
