A little Wild West glamour with a distinctly British fashion sensibility, this extraordinary 1980s Betty Jackson jacket has attitude in abundance. Made from thick suede in a rich, warm tan, it features long fringing around the shoulders and across a pointed back yoke, bringing wonderful movement to its fitted silhouette.
The collarless V-neckline keeps the front simple, with silver-tone press studs and zipped pockets adding a slightly tougher edge. Inside, a contrasting paisley lining in navy, red and green is an absolute delight. There’s a touch of Annie Oakley about it, but the shaping makes it feel cool, confident and a little sexy.
I’d wear it with a crisp white button-up shirt, high-waisted skinny jeans and a slick of red lipstick. It’s a piece with enough personality to make an outfit, and one I can imagine enjoying for many years to come.
There are visible marks to the suede, including near a pocket, on a sleeve, around the neckline and at the inside neckline, as shown in the photographs. These have not been treated. Please look closely at the detail images when considering its condition.
