This is a striking 1930s embroidered tapestry evening bag with gilt metal clasp and fine gold metal chain handle.

The clasp has a purple cut glass stone and there are three red cut glass stones underneath the clasp and at the corner of the handbag there would have been three stones on each edge but only one stone remains. Please see pictures.

For its age the handbag is in a remarkable condition with one small mark on the surface of the handbag, please see the picture as reference.

The inside of the bag is lined with silk style fabric and there is a small interior pocket which would fit a credit card.

This is a delicate handbag and wouldn’t be able to carry all of the essentials we normally carry in handbags but it would be a wonderful accessory to wear to a special occasion.
